My Sister, My Heart

There’s not enough conversation about stroke, the third biggest killer among women.
A recent study showed controlling high blood pressure and other risk factors related to pregnancy can significantly reduce a woman’s chance of suffering a stroke later in life.

There’s also evidence that strokes are occurring more frequently in younger women, especially African American women. Time to have more conversation about taking
better care of our hearts. Have a a cup of green tea with me and tell me how you take care of your heart.

And join us on April 5 in the Women’s Building at Tennessee State University for Tea and Conversations with African American women.
